What is collected when you simply read the site

Like every website, The Flawless Edit runs on a server that keeps a log of requests. They exist so the site can be kept online, kept fast, and protected from malicious attacks.

The site also uses caching software so pages load quickly. It sets a small technical cookie so the correct version of a page reaches your browser. That cookie does not identify you and is not used for advertising tracking.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, connected through the Google Site Kit plugin, to understand which fashion guides, formulation reviews, and cost-per-wear audits people actually read. It shows us how many visitors arrive, which articles hold attention and which get abandoned halfway, roughly what part of the world readers are in, and whether the site behaves properly on mobile devices. It tells us how many people read our capsule wardrobe guide last month. It does not tell us who they were.

Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this data on Google’s systems. What Google does with it is described in the Google Privacy Policy. If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site you visit.

Site Kit also connects this site to Google Search Console, which reports the search terms that led people here. Search Console data reaches us already aggregated and never identifies individual searchers.

Advertising

Advertising helps support the operational costs of running this site, including garment testing and formulation analysis. Nobody is charged to read our articles, and advertising makes that possible.

The ads you see here are placed by third-party advertising companies and programmatic networks that act as service providers to this site, together with the advertising partners they work with. What that means in practice

Your email address is never sold, rented, or passed to third parties for their own marketing. Every email includes an immediate unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email us directly at maya@theflawlessedit.com to be removed manually.

When you write to us

When you contact us directly via email or through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. We use these details strictly to reply to your inquiry. Writing to us does not automatically add you to our newsletter list.

Messages sent through contact forms are screened for automated spam against standard spam databases.

Links to other sites and share buttons
